George Méliès' "La Voyage dan La Lune (A Trip to the Moon)"

I've taken on the idea of populating the Steampunk Manor house with late 19th and early 20th century motion pictures and audio. Couldn't find a copy of George Méliès' "Le Voyage dans La Lune (A Trip to the Moon)" on the web in Quicktime format, but Google Video had it and this is a test as to whether Google Video's Flash-formatted videos will pass through to aggregators.

Here's a link to a site with more information on this seminal steampunk film.

Thanks to Steampunk Coke Bernstein for the heads up.

Building the Camera Obscura::Jefferson Gould / Steampunks

The Faux Press in Second Life
Jefferson Gould is rather an amazing inventor and industrialist of the Steampunk stripe. Visit his Manor House and Adventurers' League Headquarters at Caledon. Word has it that the Difference Engine installation is in progress.

Carp [sic] Diem / Machinima Experiments

An SL commercial created with SL pal Kevin Hauptmann for my FL vlogging friend Eric Nelson of Bottom Union fame to his "carp caviar" theme.

Satchmo Prototype suggests linking the PC to the G4 via s-video cable and playing the game on the PC while recording with the mac. Sounds like it would work well, in theory.

The alternative is to film to tape from the wall using a projector to play the game from the PC, similarly hooked up with s-video from PC to projector. The exposure might be tricky, but think it will render the smoothest rendition possible.

Plan to A/B the experiment in the coming week.

Road Node 101::Media Van-in-Progress

Road Node 101:: Second Life Van
I've a notion to outfit a van with everything needed to make media, even in the absence of electricity.

Concieving and manifesting in Second Life is much easier since it is 3-D and my feeling is that the translation from imagination to fruition will be similarly easy.
