Re-Vlog :: My Buddy Clark of ZipZapZop.com

ZipZapZop.com is in SL. Know Clark Saturn from the Vlogosphere. He's one helluva guy. His regular vlog always surprises. Mr. Saturn often reads from the Tao Te Ching, writes and plays his own music, and at least used to do "naked Fridays" that always gave me a tingle.

We've been out of touch for a while since he moved upstate and will any day now be a father.

This is the first of his machinima I've seen.

Way to go, Clark.

Ban Lines :: No Entry!

From the Grid
Originally uploaded by Ordinal Malaprop.

Gah. Ugly. Ugly.

Seeing "No Entry" scripts makes being in SL suck. Might as well be in the real world.

Thank, Ordinal, for ramping up the discussion.

Nikola Tesla, NYC

This bust of Nikola Tesla appears in front of the church that sits between 5th and 6th Avenues on the north side of 25th St. in New York City.

As a steampunk wannabe in Second Life, thought it would be appropriate to share.

Meta Metaverse :: Machinima Advertising

Thanks to Twitter-pal Prokofy Neva, this video.

Does that make this vlog post 'meta-meta-metaverse'? I think so.

Finally :: An Alternative to Text Chat in SL

Yes! I'm bored with text. It's too slow and furthermore, texting leads to misunderstanding. Here's to emotional information.

We spoke tonight…

Johnny Ming with Voice

A year ago at GDC I met with the folks from Vivox which resulted in the blog entry, Voice you on Sheep Island. So it is with great satisfaction that a year later, Linden Lab has announced VOIP integration with SL and tonight the SL Voice beta group was invited to give it a try. The client ran awesome (on my Intel Mac), the voice quality is better than Skype, the 3D proximity chat works great and the experience was amazing.

Power Move for Ze Frank

From Second Life. This is an example of the heart of viral advertising, people. Move a community to bring the best parts of themselves forward. Ze Fuckin' Frank gets it. Not everybody has what it takes to build a community. It is a rare and beautiful thing. Jay Dedman's got it, too. This kind of leader is charisma on crack. This is something that cannot be taught, bought or bottled. Valuable on the scale of supply & demand. Ze Frank moves me. I'd sooner be addicted to movement than sugar.

SL on CBS Sunday Morning with David Pogue

Watch the video that features Eric Rice (known in-world as Spin Martin) HERE.

How did they do that Pogue morph at the end???

Here's Pogue's NY Times blog post
on Second Life.

Wish CBS allowed its videos to travel down RSS pipes.

Sigh.

The Infinite Mind interview with Kurt Vonnegut live from Second Life

"Author Kurt Vonnegut is interviewed by host John Hockenberry, live from Second Life. The interview was for the "Through the Looking Glass" series, from the national, weekly public radio program, The Infinite Mind, which featured the first live broadcasts from virtual 3-D cyberspace."

Almost machinima vlogging. "The Infinite Mind" goes digital with a videoblog. It's the first national broadcast to establish a base of operations in Second Life. Unfortunately, their site is not RSS-enabled. Videos are Google-hosted in flash and there's no subscribe button.

Suzanne Vega is the first major musician to appear in concert in Second Life. See the Suzanne Vega video here.

Wowowow.
